Communications Center: Your first telephone contact with Healthcare Associates will be with these employees. They take all calls, screen for information and get the message out to the right destination. They schedule appointments within all disciplines of our practice.
Patient Services Coordinators: Acting as liaison between the physician and patient, these highly trained staff members are responsible for setting up the patient's information for the doctor's exam. Perusing your chart, they make sure all test results and necessary documents are included for your office visit. They are the direct link to your physician.
Nurses: While maintaining a high quality of care, our nurses, trained in Pain Management, will take your blood pressure with a smile, perform initial assessments, take vital signs, assist you onto the table and place you onto a monitoring device for routine safety, assist the Pain Management doctors with procedures, clean, bandage you, and get you safely on your way. Trained as IV therapy specialists, they also work with our Neurologists in headache therapy management.
Receptionists: At Healthcare Associates, our receptionists will greet you with a smile. They are responsible for getting your medical chart up and ready for your office visit, your co-payments collected and your appointment session expedited with courtesy and compassion.
Neurodiagnostic Technicians: At Healthcare Associates our certified technicians administer EMG, EEG, BAER, VER, SSEP, Sleep EEG, and 24-hour EEG testing. At the hospital, our technicians will administer a Video EEG and perform monitoring for surgery. Well-trained in the administration of these tests on adults as well as children, they are devoted to our patients' care and well-being.
MRI Technologists: A 4.5 ARES II Hitachi open MRI, is patient friendly, and gives our radiologists and specialist's high quality diagnostic images. At the Imaging Center of Staten Island, certified personnel provide a pleasant atmosphere for all of our patients.
X-Ray Technicians: On-sight orthopedic x-ray technicians, certified to work hand-in- hand with our Orthopaedic Surgeons and Physicians Assistants, perform x-rays at our orthopedic offices in a timely fashion.
Physical and Occupational Therapists: Using modalities, manual skills and therapeutic exercises, our well-trained physical and occupational therapy staff will administer your rehabilitative care with expertise. Transcriptions: Our on-site transcription personnel work closely with the doctors to have your clinical notations promptly and efficiently completed, placed in your electronic medical record and sent to your referring physician and in some case your insurance company.

Authorizations: The personnel in our Authorization Department will call your insurance company to have your, durable medical equipment, surgery or procedure authorized. Making sure all referrals are in place, they will stay on the phone to guarantee your insurance company approves your services.
Medical Records: All records are electronic and maintained according to the HIPAA compliance rules. Our medical records staff, well trained in the care and upkeep of your clinical chart, are educated in HIPAA compliance and are in charge of scanning documents into your electronic records and the proper maintenance of your electronic records.
Workers' Compensation: Here to serve patients for a work related injury, they are the Workers' Compensation patient advocate. If you need a copy of your clinicals or a call to your insurance company, they will handle all of this as well as call your third party case manager, check your billing, set up your physician's depositions and fulfill authorization requests.
